The Stupid Common Man

While I’m writing this post, my country continues to burn, even after more than sixty years of independence. Its not that I have lost faith in the very foundations in which my country has been built, but the current geopolitical circumstances forces the cynic inside me to take the centre stage.

Without going into the details, I’m just jotting down a few important points that cross my mind at this moment in time when terrorism has been communalised and communities have been terrorised.

In India, I think, we have

1) An underbred intelligence agency

2) Overstressed police dogs

3) Ever cautious police force

4) Never ashamed politicians

5) A government facing a lot of questions

6) An opposition that seems to know all the answers

7) Media that doesn’t think twice before hyping anything and everything

And while terrorism, communalism are sandwiched between politics and religion, the plight, power and will of the stupid common man is as always… ignored and underestimated.
